Windy days are frequently on tap. With the Cascade Mountains to the west and high desert to the east, Bend can get a tad windy. On average, October through April tends to be the windiest months, with December having the highest winds. In the winter make sure to bundle up, check conditions in the mountains, and let your winter spirits soar. During the summer months, the wind tends to be friendlier, so enjoy your day floating on the Deschutes or paddling on an alpine lake and savor the smooth summer breeze.

A rainy day in Bend is better than a sunny day at the office. We love precipitation in Bend! It can mean hero dirt on our MTB trails, more water in our rivers, and an average of more than 38 feet of snow at Mt. Bachelor. Precipitation is most common October through April. November tends to be the rainiest month, and December through February tend to be the snowiest months. Although winters are getting harder to predict, you can almost always count on snowy conditions in the mountains for skiing, fat biking, and snowshoeing.
