Leigh Capozzi

Growing up in a small community in the Northeast, Leigh spent her youth playing traditional sports and chasing individual sports that followed seasonal shifts. After attending the University of Vermont, Leigh has spent the last 20+ years of her professional career connecting her passion for the outdoors with her professional path.

An Oregon resident since 2006 and in Bend full-time since 2016, Leigh is currently the Vice President, Marketing and Communications for Protect Our Winters (POW), a non-profit climate advocacy organization. Passionate about protecting the places and experiences she loves from climate change, her work focuses on communications and advocacy efforts. In addition, Leigh serves on the Envision Bend Board of Directors, supporting Bend’s long-term visioning work.

Before joining POW, Leigh was the Brand and Marketing Director for Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort and Sun Country Tours. For the previous two decades before working at Mt. Bachelor, Leigh’s professional journey focused on building outdoor and action sports brands and consulting work in sports and tourism. In addition, Leigh co-founded North Drinkware, an Oregon small business that focuses on artisan products made in Oregon.

Passionate about living a healthy and active lifestyle, Leigh’s happy place is seeking adventures with her husband and two daughters (15 and 13) on the slopes, mountain biking, or trail running in and around Bend.
