I’m originally from Eastern Washington, where I grew up in a small farming community and graduated with a marketing degree from Washington State University (go Cougs!). Since then I have grown a strong marketing background, from working in the magazine publishing world, to the alcohol beverage industry, to hospitality and now to the exciting industry of tourism. Outside of the office I am passionate about spending time with my family, cooking and entertaining, watching football, camping and enjoying the outdoors.
What’s Your Favorite Bend Adventure?
Paulina is one of my favorite places to get out of town and get some exercise. There’s a lot to do there, with great hiking trails, awesome lakes and some of the best views in Central Oregon. On the other hand, I’m always up for hitting the shopping scene and a good happy hour.
What’s Your Favorite Dining Spot?
It’s hard to pick just one, so it totally depends on my mood. If I’m looking for good pub food and a hoppy cold beer, I really enjoy either of the two 10 Barrel pubs. Their food is always delicious and I love the fun atmosphere. If I’m in the mood for some really hearty comfort food, Zydeco is where it’s at. Their food is one of the best in town and they have a good variety to fit any craving.
Best Piece Of Advice For First Time Visitors To Bend?
Do a little bit of everything. With the close proximity to hiking, SUPing, biking, dining, shopping (and so much more!), you can actually do a lot in a weekend trip to Bend, making it easy to explore the surrounding wilderness and end the day with a cold beer in town.
