The Capitol is a subterranean restaurant, full bar and a 300 person capacity music venue below NW Oregon Avenue in downtown Bend. Serving appetizers, dinner, great drinks, they also host a variety of performances. Their name was chosen from one of the community’s forefathers to reinvent and reconnect with a theater which operated in downtown Bend from 1922 to 1955. Known for its prestige and lively atmosphere, the Capitol Theatre brought films and performances to the small logging town, and people from all over the county came to there to be entertained. The old school basement location was chosen to back the feeling from the past and create a sense of connection to the small town of Bend. Their kitchen boasts a menu that is strictly in season and entirely from scratch, sourced from local, organic, non-GMO products, made with sustainable practices, and their Lit Slice menu features hot pies, sandwiches, salads, and desserts served until 2:00 a.m. every night.
