For breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Jackson’s Corner is a well-deserved local favorite

Bend Restaurants

I’ve long been a fan of Jackson’s Corner as the perfect lunch spot for tasty salads and sandwiches or a casual dinner of homemade pasta.

But a recent outing with the Visit Bend team was my first exposure to the breakfast offerings at this quirky little café.

To put it simply, I’m in love.

Jackson’s Corner offers Bend’s best home cooking away from home. With its casual atmosphere and commitment to organic and locally grown products, Jackson’s Corner is a favorite among Bend locals.

During our recent breakfast outing, I ordered the roasted red pepper scramble. It’s a hearty mix of fresh organic eggs, roasted red peppers, Tumalo Farms chevre goat cheese, and fresh organic spinach served with home fries and Italian country toast.

Nearly everyone at our table got the home fries, and if I had a nickel for each time someone took a bite and swooned, I could buy six more breakfasts. These potatoes are AMAZING (which is an odd thing to say about potatoes, but trust me—they’re delicious).

The scramble itself was also wonderful, with tons of great flavor and a hearty portion.

Another member of the group ordered the biscuits and gravy, which he described as delicious and perfectly textured. They’re made with Redmond Smokehouse chicken sausage gravy and fresh baked biscuits, and if the guy who ordered them hadn’t guarded his meal closely, I probably would have stolen it.

Several members of the group opted for breakfast burritos, which looked positively scrumptious. The burritos were filled with two eggs, choice of meat or veggies, home fries, mozzarella and provolone cheeses, sour cream, avocado, and fresh salsa. The presentation was almost too lovely to eat, though no one had any difficulty doing so. I may have even seen one or two people lick their plates, but I’m not naming names.

Everything tasted supremely fresh with a special flair that made it obvious the chef takes pride in choosing herbs and flavors that perfectly complement each dish. The restaurant’s commitment to using organic and locally grown products is admirable, and they even go out of their way to acquire meats produced locally in sustainable, humane ways.

The ambiance at Jackson’s Corner is that perfect blend of funky-casual, with large, homey tables and wooden benches. Since the place doubles as a market, there’s a huge cooler packed with beer, wine, and other interesting beverages.

Not that beer and wine are the best choice with breakfast, but hey, I’m not here to judge.

Prices for breakfasts range from $4.50 for a half-order of biscuits and gravy to $9-12 for most other offerings. Portions are hearty and service is casual—you order at the counter and food is delivered to your table.

All in all, I have to say Jackson’s Corner is one of the tastiest breakfasts I’ve had in a long time.

And fine, I’ll admit it—it was me who licked the plate.
