The Awbrey Glen Restaurant and Golf Club are nestled into the historic pines on Bend’s Westside, with picturesque views of the Cascade Mountains. No need to be a golfer to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere punctuated by mountain and lush golf course views.
Many people don’t realize the restaurant at one of Bend’s iconic golf clubs is open to the public and, for those in the know, a popular spot for elegantly casual dining. And in warm weather, one can sit out on the patio while dining and enjoy the fresh mountain air and relax in the sun.
A recent “happy hour” visit by the Visit Bend foodies elicited great responses. The welcoming dining room is well appointed, with a sparkling open bar, large stone fireplace, original artwork and lush plants. Walls of windows frame your spectacular view.
Friendly, attentive service introduced us to a menu ranging from a simple, dining-but tasty, Sliders with Oregon Valley Natural Beef Caramelized Onions and French Fries to Chicken Wings with Celery Sticks and House Blue Cheese Dipping Sauce. Other favorites were the Portobello Quinoa Cakes with Chimichurri Vinaigrette and the Asian BBQ Pork and Pot Stickers with Sweet Chili Lime and Hot Mustard Dipping Sauces. Even with several people at the bar and families at nearby tables, the ambiance was low-key, making for a comfortable, relaxing end to the day.
The Awbrey Glen Restaurant is open for lunch Tuesdays through Sundays 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, and dinner Wednesdays through Sundays 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Breakfast is also served on Sundays from 8 am until 1 pm–we’ll be back for the Dutch Apple Pancakes! The patio is open for outdoor dining during the summer months.
Daily specials complement a variety of soups, salads and sandwiches midday as well a tantalizing dinner selection of fresh seafood, rich lamb and beef, savory chicken and perfectly seasoned vegetarian dishes. The restaurant also features top-quality wines and tempting desserts.
