(BEND, Ore.)—Visit Bend has partnered with trazzler.com, an international and intuitive travel site that makes travel recommendations based on traveler personalities, to create a “365 Days of Adventure in Bend, Ore.” writing contest.

Open to residents of the continental United States, entrants are asked to describe in 160 words or less the kinds of places and experiences in Bend they can’t wait to share with a good friend visiting from out of town, or find themselves pining for when they are far from Bend. Entries will be accepted online through June 15, with the winner being announced on June 21.

“What could be better than local experts in Bend and Trazzler.com when it comes to inspired travel writing?” said Biz Stone, Twitter Co-founder and Co-founder of Trazzler. “We’re excited to see how this creative partnership between Visit Bend and Trazzler plays out on social media and we can’t wait to read about trips that locals love and smart visitors seek out.”

Entries will be voted on online, with the winning entry receiving a Bend vacation including lodging at Mount Bachelor Village Resort (www.mtbachelorvillage.com), shoes and a shopping spree from Merrell (www.Merrell.com )─ the official outfitter of Bend Adventures─ and dinner at Cork (www.corkbend.com ). Runners-up will receive prizes including golf at Tetherow Golf Resort (www.tetherow.com/taketwo ), Merrell gift cards, and tours from Wanderlust Tours (www.wanderlusttours.com). One entry will be awarded the “Editor’s Choice” and will receive a freelance writing contract from Trazzler.

“Trazzler is quickly becoming one of the top travel recommendation sites because of their ability to match specific traveler interests with corresponding activities, which makes Trazzler a perfect fit for Visit Bend’s variety of activities and adventures. And, it also aligns well with our marketing objectives,” said Lynnette Braillard, marketing director for Visit Bend. “We love to hear what locals and visitors enjoy most about Bend, and this contest will give us the chance to do just that.”

Trazzler.com will promote the contest to their 1.3 million plus Twitter followers worldwide (@trazzler and @trazzler_northw), showcase the contest in their email blasts to over 50,000 subscribers, and push the contest via their social media outlets like Facebook (www.facebook.com/Trazzler) and their blog. Once the contest is complete and winners have been announced, Trazzler will feature their favorite entries on Twitter so Bend visitors and residents will be able to read what makes this Central Oregon mountain town a one-of-a-kind place. Visit Bend will also promote the contest through its own Twitter page (@twisitbend), Facebook fan page, email blasts and more.
