President/CEO Visit Bend

Kevney Dugan

Kevney Dugan
Born and raised in Michigan, Kevney grew up playing youth sports, leading him into a lifelong passion for the outdoors, which then became part and parcel of his career as first a fly fishing guide and retail manager for Orvis. This work took him across the west, from the hallowed waters of Livingston to San Jose and back to Jackson Hole and eventually, settling in Bend, where he began his career in tourism over 15 years ago. Citing the beauty of the place just east of the Cascades as the epicenter from which he launches his own—and now, his family’s—adventures, Bend has become not just a place to live and play but a place where Kevney has set the tone for other small, popular tourist destinations in the West and beyond. Kevney and his team have focused their efforts on leveraging tourism for the greatest good in a town where so many want to enjoy its incredible assets. His focus at the organization has become working with the Visit Bend team to make sure the industry is thriving so that a balanced Bend is achievable, leading to economic, social and environmental sustainability and therefore a destination that is viable for years to come. Kevney’s youth sports history has been honed down to the fine point of ultrarunning, which he pursues on the single track of the Cascades and other parts of the mountain west. He and his wife Erin have two children, 10 and 12.
