Tennis
Whether you’re looking to train with the pros to get ready for a tournament or play a casual doubles match with friends and family, playing tennis in Bend, Oregon, means having a ball at state-of-the-art facilities and improving your skills with top-notch instructors available for clinics or private lessons.
Eight public tennis courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis through Bend Parks and Recreation. Four outdoor tennis courts are nestled among the native conifers in Juniper Park, and there are two courts at Sylvan Park and Summit Park on Awbrey Butte. Bend Parks & Rec offers tennis lessons for adults throughout the summer season from USPTA-trained staff and youth lessons from April through June.
The courts at Central Oregon Community College are in a gorgeous setting with sweeping mountain views, but if these are full, Bend Senior High School, Summit High School, and Mountain View High School have public courts. For those looking to improve their game, several private clubs in the area offer instruction for non-members. The Athletic Club of Bend provides lessons, clinics, and drill sessions to non-members who sign up in advance.
Drop into Courtside Racquet Sports if you are looking for new equipment or need to have your racket restrung. The employees also have a wealth of information about local leagues, tournaments, and clinics.
